CSI Miami SPOILERS
dreamy Ryan
[info]inge_24

I read at talk.csi some spoilers for the episode 5.22 and I'm very frustrated after reading them.
Normally I would write it at talk.csi about it, but sadly things got complicated there. I don't want to be responsible for starting an argument. so, I'm doing it here.
Oh, no worries, it doesn't mean you can't write your opinion. I'm a open minded young woman! ;-)
and maybe some people don't like me anymore after this.

Sorry for the mistakes. after editing it for the forth time I guess there are more mistakes. I'm just too lazy and too frustrated to check it again.

First, Ryan got in trouble again. AGAIN! and AGAIN!
I'm not sure if I understood it correctly, but it seems that Ryan gambles and has some debts. The CSI's suspect a guy and Ryan owns him money. The guy wants to 'blackmail' him and will remits his debt when Ryan helps him that he isn't a suspect anymore. (I'm not sure if I got this part right). Ryan pays the money while on duty and will get in to a lot of trouble, even Horatio can't help him.

arg!!!! Ryan and gambling? I don't buy this. and he's always the one who does such stupid things.
I want to know the 'why'. Which reason could he have to gamble. I know that police officers don't earn a lot of money in the US (maybe in Austria too, don't know). When the reason is good, then I think this storyline could be a good one. Maybe he needs the money not for himself. please!!! this is my only hope.

the next thing is that Yelina is coming back! I mean I'm very, very happy about this. I really like her character and also the H/Y relationsip. The bad thing is that Yelina is now a private investigator. which wouldn't be a bad thing. the problem I have is that her suspect is the guy from the Ryan storyline and she will see Ryan paying back the money while on duty.
and it seems that she will - kind of-  whistle blow this.
I don't like this. Yelina - the woman who helped him to get the job - will help to destroy his career. I can't see her doing this. she would got to Horatio first.
My hope here is that we don't know exactly what will happen and maye it's not so bad. I repeat, I can't see Yelino doing this.
and maybe I understood it wrong. and I should just look forward that she's back again in an episode.

and now the most horrible thing for me: maybe there will be a romance between Calleigh and Eric.
Please, please no!!!!! I don't know why I read this shipping thread, I wish I hadn't done it. I don't want to repeat the spoilers, but they are terrible.
In my little world romances between main characters on CSI shows are not allowed. It doesn't matter which.
There's only one ship which would work for me on screen: Horatio/Yelina. I don't think it would be awkward to watch. They are nearly canon.
People who know me will say, but you are shipping Ryan/Cal and Ryan/Eric too and you don't like romances between main characters? you are not a real shipper. You don't undersand the concept of shipping.

maybe I am. It's nice to read about cute scenes and wonderful fanfics, but I started to watch the CSI shows, because I never thought that there will be a romance between main characters. The cases are in the foregrund. They seemed to be so different from all the other shows I normally watch. (and I watch a lot of different shows).
and then I read that Sara/Gil are a couple on-screen and I was disappointed.
but CSI LV isn't my fav show, so maybe I could cope with that. (haven't seen it yet). Miami is my fav. and now they are doing this.
and it would also destroy all the other shipping communities. Cal is shipped with everyone as is Eric.
See, my both fun ships would be dead.
I really, really hope that this won't be happen.

Bye, don't expect a post from me today at talk.csi. maybe in the misc-forum in a total unrelated CSI thread.

I hope that no one is angry with me and feel free to add your opinion.

I know exactly what you mean. About all of it.

Ryan is just so not a gambler! Why do they keep doing this? We could accept a one-off mistake for Death Pool 100, but more gambling? No! And he's supposed to be in debt for 10,000 dollars. That is so not Ryan! I got really cross about that when I read it. I can't cope with owing a few pounds, so how he, with his OCD, can allow himself to be thousands of dollars in debt is beyond me.

But then the guy tries to blackmail him and he pays the money, rather than succumb to the blackmail, so that's good, even if he did do it on duty. But where did he get the money from? How come he has 10,000 dollars stashed away where he can get it? Maybe his family comes into it here? We can only hope.

And I don't like the idea of a ship on the programme either. That is purely for the realms of fanfic. If Calleigh and Eric hook up, I'm not sure that I would want to watch. I'm a slasher through and through, although I'm not sure how that happened. A canon ship destroys all other possibilities. :( Added to which I like the fact that the show is mainly about the cases, without too much messy relationship stuff. That is, again, the realms of fanfic.

Sorry, inge, for having a rant on your journal, but I really agree with everything you said. I'm not fussed about Horatio and Yelina - they can get up to whatever they want - but Ryan gambling? No way!

(Isn't it good to have a place where you can have a good rant about whatever you like, and there aren't any spoiler rules? It's your journal, and you can say what you like. :D)

I'm glad that we agree with each other.
and no problem, rant away.
you're right, it's my place and I can do whatever I want. ;-)
I so hope that Ryan doesn't have a gambling problem. 10,000 dollars are a lot. and he can pay the guy the whole money? yeah, right.
I also don't want to see messy relationship stuff (like this term) on CSI. When I want to watch it, I watch Grey's or Gilmore Girls. Here I know that relationships are in the foreground, not the hospital work (in Grey's for ex).
There's another thing that bothers me. I write you a PM, ok?
(I hope I don't annoy you)

GAH I am so disappointed by these spoilers. What are TPTB thinking? Ryan and gambling. Like Inge, I had a storyline worked out that he doesn't need the money for himself, but someone else. And well let's not go into details here :p

If Eric/Calleigh happens, I'm done watching the show. Unless they break up I couldn't watch it anymore. Call me pathetic... but I'm very faithful to my ship.

does this mean you're writing a fic? great!

aw, sweetie, the E/C thing hit you hard, doesn't it? :-(
maybe it won't be happen. I read the spoilers and the described scenes are so un-CSI like. maybe it was only a dream from a fan.

I also don't want to watch it. Then I would really only watch it because of Ryan and if they destroy his character then I would also quit watching the show.

Well, I'm a little careful with fics about upcoming episodes, because well, if the episodes turn out different, I wouldn't like that. It would make my fic incorrect. So I don't know if I'm gonna write a story yet. Besides, I have 'Home is where the Heart is' to finish first.

And yeah that hit me hard :p After GSR I didn't think it could get worse but it probably can. So yeah...I hope the spoilers are incorrect or they'll decide to cut it out. Then again, that's probably what Hip Higgers say about CaRWash spoilers.

That's why I think all ships should stay off screen. Whatever becomes canon turns off at least one set of viewers. At least GSR isn't on screen all the time - that would be icky.

"Hip Higgers"? *hides from inevitable thrown objects* I'm way too picky, I know. Sorry.

don't be so hard to our sweetie. ;-)
she needs to recover from the shock first.
and maybe she 'wanted' to write the ship wrong. *lol*
Hm, I really don't know how I would have reacted if the spoilers had been for a CarWash relationship.
maybe I wouldn't be so frustrated about it (to be honest, E/C is one of my least fav ships, right after E/N and R/N *lol*), but I wouldn't be too happy about it either. IMO an office romance in a CSI show would be strange.
I also hope that there won't be heated arguments if it really comes true.

Why is it that the possibility of E/C makes me cringe worse than Ryan's possible gambling problem? I just don't see E/C.... how are there so many followers. I understand CaRWash (kind of) but I've just never noticed anything between Eric and Calleigh other than a brother/sister relationship. At least with CaRWash I see where everyone's coming from, even if I don't personally ship it. Seriously though, if they make Eric/Calleigh canon.... I don't know what I'll do.

Well..... that said, the plot bunnies are being evil to me right now. By "evil" of course I mean they are going into overdrive. I have so many ideas right now.... *glares at bunnies* Don't they understand I have enough to work on right now without having to worry about new ideas?

And even though it's not bothering me as much as the E/C thing, I must say: Why do they keep getting Ryan into trouble? And did it have to be gambling?! I mean, come on! Can we say Warrick syndrome? Seriously! *rolls eyes*

and E/C fans see Calleigh/Ryan as brother and sister.
Shippers see some scenes in a different light and I can understand it and everyone can ship whatever they like as long as the couples are only together in fanfics.
I also don't know what will I do when E/C go canon.

about the Ryan spoiler: I hope that he covers for someone.

go bunnies go! *evil laugh*
sorry, but I soo love fanfics and yours are also soo good.

Aack! What's this I read??!? A possible E/C ship + Ryan having a gambling debt? That's very OOC in my opinion. And Ali's right... where the heck did he get the money? I thought he had student loans to pay off and couldn't afford to be overdrawn in his account. Grrr! *stomps feet*

Why, why, why do they have to make Ryan look stupid? Isn't it enough that he got into trouble? I sure hope Yelina would come to Horatio first about this. I would think that since she recommended him for CSI, that she would know him better than this before jumping to conclusions. I really hope he doesn't get into BIG trouble for this. At least he had enough integrity to not succumb into the blackmail. Poor guy!

Okay, onto E/C... I haven't read the spoilers, but this might just stem from that scene they had together at the hospital when Calleigh's talking to Eric when he woke up. I see their relationship as more of a close friend/brother-sister type of thing too, so this would totally put me off. *goes off to pout some more* -_- I don't like this one bit. Hmph!

It's frustrating, isn't it?

Rember the spoiler from the beginning of the season? It was something like Ryan will have lots of trouble because of an incompetent informant. I wonder if the gambling has something to do with the first spoiler.

I don't recommend reading the E/C spoilers. I don't know why but I keep readin the E/C thread and everytime I'm so sad and frustrated. I really, really should stop reading it.
